We were thrilled to see the Pantone colour of the year for 2017 announcement last week as we are huge fans of all things green and natural! The colour is ‘Greenery – Pantone 15-0343’, and is a “refreshing and revitalising shade, ‘Greenery’ is symbolic of new beginnings”. We love the brightness of this particular shade and used in an interior and combined with lots of lush foliage, you can really bring the garden inside and create a fantastic scheme.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institue described in detail the meaning behind the bold colour choice, and why they chose this particular colour for 2017;
“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, Greenery symbolises the re-connection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose. Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade, illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors. The fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate. A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.”

“It is a truly English collection, dedicated to the importance of home & the family within it.”
– Tori Murphy
We are thrilled to be working for the fourth year in a row with the talented British designer Tori Murphy. Beautifully hand crafted, the brand has grown rapidly and is now stocked in 14 countries including Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Heal’s, Daylesford Organic & Actus Japan.
Tori founded the brand in 2012, after working as a textile designer for some of the most prestigious fashion houses in Milan, including Christian Dior and Fendi. Designing, producing and making all of the collections here in Britain, the brand’s ethos is strongly rooted in British production.
“To me, it means we are staying true to our original ethos of creating products with character and integrity. When we started five years ago, we had a bit of a battle on our hands locating factories and machinists in England that would help us on our way but with perseverance, we did and I am proud to say we still use the same weaving mill in Lancashire, the same finishing mill in Yorkshire and the same machinists in Nottingham and the warmth, kindness and good humour from all involved has completely helped shape the Tori Murphy brand.”
The new collection, Norfolk, is a beautifully understated collection of three designs – Holkham Waffle, Sandringham Plain & Woodhouse Check. Tori explained to us that the starting point for these designs were “with weekends in Norfolk spending time with family, memories of blustery walks on Holkham beach, hazy evenings meandering through Sandringham woods with space to breathe and the thought of a beautiful home to return to. It is a truly English collection, dedicated to the importance of home and the family within it”

Tori explained that the inspiration for the collection as a whole “came from a pivotal year. A year emerging from renovating & restoring a first home and starting a family, have allowed me to realise the real importance of building something with character & integrity. Seeing first-hand how much depends on quality materials & skilled craftsmanship & how stripping back the unnecessary uncovers the beauty in structure, simplicity and texture in our surroundings.”
We chose the contemporary and sleek Salone chair for this collaboration, as the distinctive checks of the fabric, combined with the button-back detailing, create a visually striking chair. With raised arms and a luxurious feather wrapped foam cushion interior, the combination of construction and material makes a chair that not only looks stunning, but is also incredibly comfortable to curl up in and read a good book by the fire.

We are happy to announce that we have a new online stockist, ’Style our Home’. Having launched back in 2007, the site’s concept and unique customer experience have proved to be a fantastic recipe for creating a website that is easy to use, inspiring to shop from and one that customers will keep coming back to.
Harp Kaur, MD and founder, explains a little more about their company’s philosophy;
“With a vision of being unique and approachable, Style Our Home combines an extensive range of brands and products, personal customer service and expert tailored advice. Our aim is to ensure our customers can source the best products, tailored to their requirements by utilising our multi-faceted room, style and colour search functionality.”
Style our Home recently had a stand at the Grand Designs Show in Birmingham, and they displayed a sofa from our new ‘+ plus’ range, the Isla. Displayed in a beautiful and eye catching stand, and sat next to our Fera occasional range, they had great success with new and old customers.
We are looking forward to working with Style our Home, and going forward as we develop relationships with more retailers across the UK and overseas, we find ourselves learning more and more about our customers, and what people are really looking for in the world of furniture.
